Hosting a Summer Sleepover Checklist

Good afternoon! In this post I will be sharing a few ideas to try if you are hosting a summer sleepover. These ideas will keep your sleepover moving and I promise nobody will get bored. So let's get into it!

The first idea I want to share with you is making unicorn poop cookies! This will help pass the time if you and your friends don't have anything to do. And these cookies actually look like unicorn poop.(Well at least what I think it would look like!)

What you need to make these delicious cookies are:

•3/4 cup of sugar

•1/4 cup of butter

•1/2 cup of shortening

•3 tbsp. of cream cheese

•1/2 tsp. of kosher salt

•1 egg

•1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract

•2 cups of all purpose flour

•Food coloring of your choice

•Optional: edible glitter

Directions:

-Combine the room temp. egg, shortening, and cream cheese in a large bowl with a hand mixer at low speed.

-Add vanilla, sugar, and salt.

-With a large spatula, add 1 cup of flour at a time and fold into the mixture until combined.

-Chill dough in fridge for 20 minutes.

-Divide dough into equal parts(about 22 grams each piece) and put each part in a plastic baggy and add food coloring to each bag.

-Work the food coloring into the dough using your hands until combined.

-Remove dough from the bags and continue to work the food coloring into the dough.

-Place the separated dough back into the bags and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Assembling:

-Line 3 color strips of dough together and 2 on top.

-Gently twist in opposite directions, using your right hand motioning up and your left hand motioning down. Repeat until you have used all the dough strips.

-If you have sprinkles, now is the time to put them on top.

-Bake the cookies at 350F for 14-18 minutes.

-Place cookies on a cooling rack.

-If you have edible glitter, brush it on top immediately after you put the cookies on a cooling rack.

The next idea I have is a great idea for a pool party but it can be for anytime.

-First, fill a cup with Sprite. (You can use 7up or any other genetic brand of Sprite)

-Second, put a few drops of blue food coloring in the cup.

-Last, drop a few swedish fish in the drink and a cute straw.

And that's it! This is very easy and quick to do if you want an inexpensive idea to do for a sleepover or any event.

Another idea is to sleep on your deck in a tent. Just fill the tent up with a bunch of pillows and blankets and your done.

Setting up a personalized trail mix is great! Find a basket or large container and several small containers to fit inside the large container.

Then, fill the small containers with whatever you want! Some good ideas are peanuts, chocolate candy, and raisins.

Next, place some bags to put the trail mix in the basket.

Then just grab your friends and everybody can make their own personalized trail mix!

A fun game to play if it's nice outside is messy twister!

All you need is shaving cream or cool whip and a twister game. Just put a big pile on each color. If you play this game you might want to wear clothes your don't mind messing up. It might get a little messy...

If you are watching a movie and you want to watch it outside or another place in your house rather than your television this is an idea for you. Making a handmade phone projector is super easy!

1. Take a circular object and trace a circle on the bottom of a shoe box.

2. Stick a magnifying sheet on the inside of the box.

3. Stand up your phone (with a movie playing on it) inside the box, in front of the magnifying sheet.

Optional: Hang up a sheet in your backyard and project the movie on that.

Optional: Or project it on a wall in your house.

My last sleepover idea is to make friendship bracelets! This is an oldy but goody. You can never go wrong with making friendship bracelets. My favorite type of bracelets to make are heart bracelets.

Here is a video tutorial on how to make these bracelets.

That's the end of my post! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Remember to email me at sqsparkle10@gmail.com if you have any ideas for my next blog.
